Sliding Doors: The gift of letting go

Not everything is meant for us.

ree

We've all had moments where we’ve looked back and thought, what if that had worked out? The job we didn’t get. The person who wasn't who we needed, wanted or expected them to be for us. The plan that never came to life. These “sliding doors” moments can feel like missed opportunities.

But what if they were gifts in disguise?

Sometimes, the door that closes is doing you a favour. It may be preventing you from staying too long where you’ve outgrown. It may be freeing you for something better, something that actually fits who you're becoming.

Sometimes the ‘no’ is the gift.

In a world that celebrates hustle and “never give up,” letting go can feel like failure.

Yet, letting go is not giving up, it’s making space. It’s trusting that not all timing is right and not all paths are ours to walk.

Letting go isn’t easy. It requires courage, patience and a willingness to move forward without all the answers.

Clarity often comes in hindsight. One day, we may see that a "no" led to a better "yes".

So, honour the detours. Trust the pauses. You haven’t missed your path, you’re making it.
